A Thought About That

A person once asked, “can’t we all just get along?” This question should be lobbed over to the Congress of the United States of America because as it stands, America’s Congress is not united at all. It appears that they can’t agree on much of anything except that they will not agree. Why won’t they agree? Well, because they just don’t want to.

These folk were elected to look after the best interest of the people of the USA. Sadly, they just don’t seem to care about us folk. They seem to care more about their cliques and picks. The good of the whole has been lost for the good of me, myself, and I. And it doesn’t matter whether the Congress person is White or Black or Hispanic or whomever, male or female, Democratic or Republican or Independent or whatever else. Everyone has a us against them mentality. Whatever happened to “we the people” of the United States standing together with dignity and respect for one another?

When our leaders act badly, it causes a trickle down effect to the masses and they act badly also. We could get bogged down with the psychological garbage relating to this issue but the bottom line is simply this. Are we our brother’s keeper? The answer is yes we are. We need to look out for each other so that we as a body of people can be strong and stay strong. Know that a house divided against itself will not stand, but fall. Are we wanting America to fall? If not, then we have to work with each other to find common ground and objectively find answers to our problems. Can we do this? Or will it be business as usual? So what is it going to be ya’ll? Fuss and cuss or objectively discuss?

It just seems no one truly loves America any more. Lip service is all that’s given to that notion. People just want to rape and pillage the Land of Liberty; never giving back, never caring about who gets hurt. Just take, take, take. Well I tell ya’ll what. If the folk already here, and all the ones rolling in don’t soon get locked up in a love fest instead of a hated mess, then America will evolve into a barren wasteland of lost hopes and dreams becoming the land that time forget. And the people will perish because leaders and followers alike could not answer correctly the question, “can’t we all just get along?”

A Thought About That

Why is it that the U.S. is so in love with China? Clinton is supposed to be headed in that direction to woo this nation for reasons that does not compute. Their government abuse the people. They do not allow freedom of speech or movement. Their government allows tainted goods to go out to the world and then when they get caught, they only pretend to do something about it. And the words could flow on about their insane practices from any justice minded individual.

I do wish America would stop importing all their goods with lead paint and poison in them. When America does this, allow the goods to come in, America is kind of saying to its people, “oh well, I don’t really care about you. Dude you are on your own.” This is not good and it is not right. But who really cares about what is right I reckon?

If you want to woo China, let them first prove they are worthy to be wooed. Let them show they care about justice by being fair to their own citizens. Just trying to have a courtship with this country and any other country like it just to get cheap goods that their citizens have to work in sweat shops and in extremely hazardous conditions to produce is an abomination to what America is suppose to stand for which is truth, justice, and equality.

One of the reasons that our economy is weak now is because of the dumping of their tainted goods on our shores and the greed of the business community that keeps bringing them here. Try to find an American made something anymore. Good luck. We need to stop this insanity and bring our jobs home, create our own product base again, and work for justice within our own economic system. And to all those companies that still want to out source jobs, there should be a huge penalty for doing so. Likewise for all who would import goods from countries such as China who do not monitor the quality of their goods for their people and the world.

I know America will do what it wants to just as it always has and continue business as usual that is greed driven instead of justice driven. But what does that say about us as a country? Apparently not much that is good. It appears that America has sold its soul for the all mighty dollar. Soon, at the going rate, America will be own by foreign entities only.

President Obama, I asked you to forget about wooing China and all these other folk until they get their house in order. And in the meantime, it is time that America got its house in order as well. For if our house is not in order, then how can you expect to help anyone else get their house in order?

Let’s take care of America first, then the world. God bless America. Amen.

A Thought About That

What’s up with the Democratic leadership in this country? They seem like a bunch of ego-tripping power hungry wannabes. They finally get a good foot hold in Congress and even a Democratic President, but  it seems with every turn they are trying to belittle Obama and minimize his every move and he is not even in office yet. Instead of being supportive of his efforts to come into the White House running, they appear to be trying to slow him down to a miserable crawl. Already some are telling him they don’t work for him or they don’t like this pick for whatever or this pick don’t  have any experience or whatever. Well, you folks surely worked for Bush without any problems because you sure didn’t stand up for justice and do the right thing and oppose many of the outlandish policies he carried out. You surely didn’t work too hard to mess with any of Bush’s picks. And gee whiz, when you first came to Congress, how much Congressional experience did you have? Huh?! Even the most knowledgeable person do not have practical experience in anything unless they have direct interaction with whatever activity or position. So, constructive criticism is welcomed but destructive, egotistical positioning should be banned.

Democrat folk, get a whole of yourself. You appear so disarrayed. Why are you attacking each other when now is a perfect time to come together and get ‘er done. Sure there will always be differences of opinion, but you appear to be just full of useless venom instead with no apparent desire to reason together. Why are you so against what Obama is attempting to put together? Why don’t you want to give the man a chance to finalize his plans and efforts? Why are you trying to tackle his momentum even before the ball is hiked? Is it because he is not your pick for President? Did he do something to make you mad? Is it because your ego is showing and you want to be the big boss of everything? And I know it wouldn’t be because of…. naw, I ain’t even gonna say that.

At any rate, brother Dems, it is time to come reason together and be together getting the job done that needs to get done in this country. Time is out for nonsense and time is in for practical common sense. We have had eight years of craziness. It is a time to get America back to a state of saneness. Git ‘er done!

A Thought About That

Black Friday. It is indeed a dark day when a person is killed due to materialistic nonsense. I am referring to the Walmart employee who was trampled when he open the doors to let idiotic shoppers into the store so they could get what they thought were important to them. From the Herculean rush, none of shoppers seemed to think of the harm that their desperate actions could cause. And when they had to close the store temporarily because of the situation, too many were angry because they had already been waiting so long to get their goodies.

Black Friday. Wake up America! Is getting that big screen or laptop worth another’s life? Are you so into your own interests that you can’t be aware of other folk around you? If asked if you are your brother’s keeper, the answer should be yes; for what you do not only affects you but all those who are around you.

The few words put forth here might fall upon deaf ears and blinded eyes due the small footprint this event has in the big picture of world events but this story has many angles to it. One being this was another breakdown of capitalism. Of course we live in a capitalistic society and within this society it is all about the Benjamins which leads to greed and mismanagement for selfish purposes. Greed, mismanagement, selfishness has our economy shaking in its boots right now. And this incident was caused by the same ingredients. Greed, mismanagement of actions, and selfish attitudes (folk trying to get the deal before somebody else) have one family out there wondering “why” the same way we wonder “why” about the economy.

Black Friday. One person gave his all so that our economic situation could get better by one company receiving Benjamins from a thirsty crowd of inconsiderate shoppers.

A Thought About That

I was sitting at my computer the other day doing odds and ends when my mind drifted into a memory state. See, having been unemployed for a spell, money was tight and times were a little hard. In this memory state of mind, I began to drift down the road of history that got me to this point; the decisions, jobs lost, and why the jobs were lost. Hard times. Feeling the brunt of hard times will make you think about stuff you normally would not. Why this and why that. Why did this happen and why did they treat me like that. Why. WHY. WHY!?!   

Yes, life can get hard sometimes and you wonder why, but sometimes there is no answer to the why. And there may never be in this lifetime the answer to the why. We spend a lot of wasted time on the why when hard times hit. We want to know reasons for stuff that really doesn’t matter because if we did know it still would not change the fact that what happened, happened. Hard times.

Sitting at my computer that day going from site to site just trying not to think; not to think of the why. Not to think of my little hard times and stress. I know there are others that might have more stuff going on in their lives than me, but still my stuff is my stuff and my stuff needs attention too. But sitting there, something strange happened. I decided to go to my site at blackgold.name. Of course, I had been there a zillion times because it seemed if I didn’t go there, no one else would. Another why. But there I was on my site. I had recently updated my site and had put a Bible verse of the day applet on it. Thought it was a nice effect. Thought maybe it would help generate repeat traffic to the site. Thought maybe it would inspire someone. Just thoughts…

On this day, with my little stuff going on, that little applet popped up a scripture that kind of amazed me. Simple scripture, yet so profound that after reading it, I just kind of stared at that applet in a light daze. All this garbage I had been thinking about was put into proper perspective for me by this one little verse of so many. It shook me back to my little frayed senses. It spoke to me the words “son, get a grip! Everything is cool. Everything will be alright.” O.K. O.K. I know… The verse was this: Isaiah 46:4 — Even to your old age and gray hairs I am He, I am He who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you. Wow! All the hard times, the whys, the stress, the mess, the folk, the whatever; it all went away. All I could do was lift my eyes to Heaven and say “thank You Lord”.

Sometimes we need a lift from someplace, a little inspiration. At that moment in time I got mine from an applet on a web site. I know times will not always be the way we might wish but just think: the Creator of you and me tells us He will be with us always and will sustain us and rescue us. That’s major. I check that little applet everyday now. And every day now I am getting better about keeping all the hard time negatives away from me. For I know, though I may not see the how and the when, I do see the evidence of His grace and mercy, i.e., I’m still alive. And still being alive I know He is there working on the big picture and will carry me through to victory. And He can and will do the same for you also. Just get a grip and believe.

A Thought About That

     Movies are great entertainment. They work through their plots and sub plots; sometimes having no plot; keeping us glued to our seats till the credits start rolling. Most will have happy endings, some not; but what does it matter; it’s just a movie, right? Right.

     Well, we got some stuff in real life going on that is the essence of what great movies are made. Of course, I’m speaking of the political rumblings going on right now. But understand this; it’s not a movie. It’s real and it effects us all and not just a few folk on a movie screen. Some folk like to look at it as a matter of left vs right; conservative vs liberal; whatever vs whatever. You can call it what you like. It boils down to does any of these folk have us folk’s best interests at heart? Does any of these folk truly care about the good old US of A? Or do they care only for the fame, money, and power? You hear them talking about this and that, but too many times their talk don’t match their walk. And that’s on both sides of the fence. Even though this has the makings of a good movie, comprehend, this thang ain’t no movie. It’s the real deal. There won’t be any alternative ending. There won’t be any retakes. We have already been characters in this political real life drama already. Remember.

     We don’t need any more drama. We need the truth. We need justice. We need common sense. And we need a righteous stance, not just some stance that they think will get them elected. We truly need to be doing our homework and deciding with our votes who is the most qualified and honest person for the job of President of these United States. We must not base our choices on the surface junk they present to our eyes and ears. We must dig deep down to the soul of the person where the true essence of their motivations resides. We must tunnel our way to their hearts, for as the heart go, so goes the man or woman. We have to size up these folk and let them know we are not just pansies, but real people expecting real results. And after looking and thinking about what some of these folk have presented in their words and actions, I just don’t think they have demonstrated that they have the best interests of America in their hearts and will work to do justice to the American dream, the American hope, the American people, and American righteousness in general.

     Let us go to the polls prepared so when we look back on these times and happenings, a movie can be made that not only grips our attention but it will make us smile with pride knowing that we help to elect a person who stood for the good of all and not just a few.
